With your creativity and expertise it is up to you to create this 20-30 second long video animation that will evoke interest in the beverage. Once complete then you should review the checklist for grading criteria before turning in your work.

Step 2- Gather

Watching and completing the tutorial above is going to aid you in completing your own marking animation for a drink can of your choice. This project requires you to develop your own Marketing Campaign for a drink of choice.  It must:

  • Include Audio that compels and invokes interest to the viewer
  • Be at least a 20- 30 second Animation
  • Include a dancing can at some point throughout the animation- DOES NOT NEED TO DANCE THE WHOLE LENGTH OF VIDEO!
  • It must include a slogan or tagline at some point in the animation
  • Contain creativity! Use your imagination to COMPEL people to want to be interested in this drink! Use different animations to capture the attention of the viewer.
  1. View the many different examples of the project.
  2. Start collecting the assets you plan to use for your project:
    • Drink Can- needs to have a transparent background (.png) and be high resolution
    • Background images – whatever you think you may want to incorporate into the video
    • Music – find a 20 second(MAX 30 seconds) long clip of music you would like to use.  You may have to clip your own music to get the best selection of a song.  (school appropriate) Make your audio fade up/down in Audition before you export as an MP3.
  3. Develop a slogan (or use the company slogan) that you want to be represented and marketed by the feel of the animation

Step 3 – Create

  1. Make a new project in AE, make a new composition with the NTSC DV setting (720×480) and change the duration to the length of your song.  (20 – 30 seconds)
  2. Start creating your marketing animation for your can. (Incorporate all of the requirements from above)
  3. When completed, export your video as a Quicktime MP4 file using H.264 Compression and save it in your video folder.
