Shape Animation

OVERVIEW

Students will use basic shapes to create an animation that is fun, interesting, and creative.

OBJECTIVE

Using the Shape tools in Adobe Animate students will create shape tweens to develop a ten second long animation that tells a story with shapes.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. WATCH

Watch the Video Below about the 12 Rules of Animation

2. PLAN

Plan out your Animate movie using the requirements below. (Stage size is up to you!)

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 10 seconds in length
  • The use of two basic shapes ( circle / square / triangle / free form)
  • Using at least 4 out of the 12 principles of animation: add a specific emotion to your shapes ( for example: happy circle/ angry triangle/ shy square…).
  • Each shape should  have a different personality, decide what it is before you animate.
  • Create a short story with a relationship between the 2 shapes ( love scene, fight scene, horror scene, “whatever you decide” scene)

3. DEVELOP

Develop you Shapes.

4. CREATE

Start creating the Animation! Use shape tweens to animate the objects. Make sure the requirements are being followed.

5. SAVE and SUBMIT

Save the file as a .FLA.  Submit it in the network drive for review.
