Pop Art Portrait
OVERVIEW
Pop art is an art movement that emerged in the mid-1950s in Britain and in the late 1950s in the United States. Pop artists have focused attention upon familiar images of the popular culture such as billboards, comic strips, magazine advertisements, and supermarket products. In pop art, material is sometimes visually removed from its known context, isolated, and/or combined with unrelated material. The concept of pop art refers not as much to the art itself as to the attitudes that led to it.
Photoshop has many filters and features that will allow designers to replicate the pop art era. Using these features in Photoshop students will use their creativity to create a pop art portrait expression of themselves.
