Design Principles and Elements Project

OVERVIEW

Just like the letters of the alphabet helps us put together and create words. The Design Elements & Principles are the ABC’s of design and the formula in which designer’s live by. When applied effectively the elements and principles are powerful tools that aid with the intended purpose of a design. Different combinations of letters create different words, likewise by using the elements and principles in various combination designers can purposely create designs and compositions that will capture the attention of the intended audience.

In this activity students will work together in a group to study designated principles and elements of design. They will work together to design an effective advertisement for a product or service that incorporates the designated principle and element they have been designated. Students will then present their research on the principle and element while showcasing their design advertisement.
