Part II: Adding E-Commerce
OVERVIEW
WooCommerce is an open-source e-commerce plugin for WordPress. It is designed for small to large-sized online merchants using WordPress. Using WooCommerce and your existing WordPress site you will integrate into an ecommerce platform.
OBJECTIVE
Using WordPress you will create an Ultimate Fitness e-commerce store.
INSTRUCTIONS
Using your existing WordPress Ultimate Fitness site:
- Un-publish the Resources page on the Ultimate Fitness Site (Do not delete it, just remove it from the menu bar)
- Create a new page (in the menu section of the main nav) called Shop and add it to the menu bar where the Resources was located. (there will be nothing on this page it should just be made to develop a drop-down)
- Download WooCommerce and add it to your Ultimate Fitness site.
- Accept only PayPal
- Use a Flat Rate Shipping of $5.00
- Include with the Plugin: Automated Taxes and Woo Commerce Admin ONLY
- Create 3 new underlying pages the will drop down below the Shop page:
- Apparel
- Gift Cards
- Merch
- Incorporate the My Account, Cart, and Checkout navigation items into your site. (You most likely need to create a new menu with those items and have them display separately from the main navigation.)
- Use the information below to help create each of the pages as well as the products for the pages
