Grading Rubric (5 Points)
You will be graded according to the following criteria:
- How realistic and smooth is the motion of the car throughout the animation?
- Does the motion of the car accurately follow the racetrack?
- Are eases applied correctly to the motion tween to mimic an accelerating and decelerating car?
Instructions
The perspective of this animation should be from the top, looking down at the car and the course. The car should be stopped at a starting line, and then slowly gain speed as it cruises along a track until it finally comes to a stop at the finish line.
Obviously, your car will have to accelerate to get up to speed and slow down when it passes the finish line, so think about what kind of eases would suit the motion tween. Also, as your car moves along its path of motion, its nose should always be pointing where it is headed.
- Create a new HTML5 file with the properties of 700px by 500px.
- Download the project files from above.
- Import to the library racetrack.ai and car.ai. Place them each on the stage on separate NAMED layers. The racetrack should fit the stage area.
- The car should appear behind the starting line on the racetrack.
- Create a motion tween on the car to follow the track. The car should make it around the track in a total of 10 seconds at 24fps. (Therefore your ending frame for the animation will be at _____) Modify the path of motion so that it accurately follows the racetrack.
- Apply the correct eases so the car moves realistically as it starts and stops.
- Use the Orient to Path option to ensure that your car is properly oriented.
- Save and submit your project accordingly: .FLV document CALLED: Project4(YOUR INITIALS) Place the finished .flv in the Network Drive
