  • Create a compound path.

  • Edit strokes with the Width tool.

Exercise

Objective

You will create a Robot image in Illustrator that effectively uses shapes and colors.

  • Did you follow the instructions to complete the exercise?
  • Did you use a variety of shapes?
  • You used your creativity.
  • Is the file saved properly?
  • Is the exercise submitted on time?

Instructions

  1. Open up Illustrator and create a new document that is a letter preset and with a portrait orientation. (8.5in x 11in)
  2. Use the shape tools to create a robot looking like image. (See Example) Use fill, and stroke to help colorize the robot. Use the requirements below as a guide:
    • Have more than 20 shapes
    • Create a full body robot: head, arms, legs, etc..
    • Use a color fill
    • Use stroke options
    • BE CREATIVE
  3. Save the file as an Illustrator document called: Ch4Ex1_(YourInitials)
  4. Submit your site in the Network Drive.
